Ten minutes at the kitchen table before Saturday kick-off

You do not need coaching badges to help your kid enjoy football more. Pick two short questions, let them drive the mouse, and stop while it is still fun.

Parents who never played organized football often worry they will say the wrong tactical word. Good news: eight-year-olds do not care what a half-space is. They care about having someone pass them the ball when they are open, and knowing where to run when their teammate gets stuck.

Sit down together on Friday evening with a laptop or iPad. Open "Find the open teammate" first, read the two-line prompt out loud, and hit "Hide guidance & let them decide". Ask one question before they tap: "Who has grass around them AND a clear path for the ball?"

Once they nail that pass, load "Create width". Let them drag the right midfielder toward the touchline, submit the move, and flip the Before / After toggle. Then close the tab. Ten minutes is plenty, and on Saturday morning you only need one cue from the sideline: "Find your space wide!"
